Monstruos de Media Noche
Short Film

“Midnight Monsters" is a horror comedy about an elderly man who swears there’s a monster hiding in his closet. His son, skeptical and dismissive, laughs off the warning. But when night falls, disbelief has a price — and the monster is ready to collect. A black-and-white horror comedy about fear, family, and what lurks just beyond the door.

“Midnight Monsters” was created during my first year of film school as an exercise in experimentation with light and storytelling. The intention was to craft a concise narrative that balanced humor and horror while relying on the expressive power of black-and-white imagery. By limiting the resources and focusing on the essentials — shadow, contrast, and timing — the short became both a playground and a challenge: how to suggest fear and comedy through light, silence, and the unseen. More than a story about monsters, it is a study in atmosphere, a small but important step in learning how to shape narrative through cinematic language.
