Somos la Piel
Documentary Short-Subject
The story of "Somos la Piel" (We Are the Flesh) takes place between the halls and classrooms of the National School of Classical and Contemporary Dance A.C. (ENDCC) of Mexico City and narrates the experiences of a group of teenagers who are preparing through the sixth year of the classical dance degree with the dream of becoming professional dancers.
The documentary aims to portray the effort and dedication behind the scenes; an approach to the months of rehearsals, preparations, and commitment, that culminates in just a few minutes of performance on stage; while simultaneously, the dedication forges the character of each one of them to become fierce artists.
